About Us
From its formation in 1988, Bree Day architects were aware that the built environment sector, through spatial planning strategies, building construction and buildings in use, was responsible for a major part of carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere. This awareness has led to a commitment  to Environmental Design and Sustainable Construction which has become a strong motivation within the practice leading us to seek solutions, within the sphere of architecture and urban design, to help minimise the impact of new development on the environment. Our approach to urban design and masterplanning follows the principles of eco-urbanism which aims to achieve harmonious and balanced built environments by using existing natural systems and characteristics to inform design solutions.

The Practice has experience of many building types and uses and has extensive experience in housing and mixed use projects, we have designed a number of innovative, sustainable and intelligent award winning housing projects.

The ethos of the office comes from a desire to continually improve the architecture and technical performance of the building projects on which we work, we do this both by internal and external appraisal and by participating in, and contributing to, a number of professional bodies and networks.

The practice is resourced to provide a full range of services from brief preparation through to delivery of the completed project. We focus on both the early conceptual stages and the production information stages of projects and regularly provide comprehensive packages of production information for our major D&B contractor clients. The practice is fully informed and enabled to advise clients on the best ways of meeting the steadily improving environmental performance challenges faced by the industry and legislated for in Planning and Building Regulations.

Bree Day Ltd has two equity directors. Tim Day is responsible for the architectural and urban design output of the office and Damian Bree is responsible for sustainable building technology, specifications and project implementation. The practice operates from its offices in Twickenham, Middlesex.

In addition to membership of our professional bodies we are members of the UK Green Building Council, UK Urban Design Group, Town and Country Planning Association, Associate Parliamentary Group for Design and Innovation, and Local Urban Task Force; we participate in a global network of multi-disciplinary organisations committed to improving the sustainable performance of built environment projects.
