High profile Demonstration house designed in 10 weeks and built in another 13 without any form of Contract, demonstrating a true Partnering ethos.
The Integer Millennium House was jointly designed in October 1997 by four individuals; Tim Day and Damian Bree of Bree Day architects, Nicholas Thompson and Paul Hodgkins, as a result of a request by the UK Department of Trade & Industry (DTI) to put into tangible terms our research into sustainable design and living. The DTI then took this design on a trade mission to Australia.
The house was built to demonstrate how constructional, environmental, sustainable and technological applications available today can be used to provide a better home and lifestyle using available technology. The house was featured on the BBC’s Tomorrow’s World Programme and was the subject of a special 6 part series documenting its construction.
There were no prototypes or experimental components used in the construction of the house.
The house won many design awards in the years following its completion.
Since the completion of the Millennium House we have used the experience and knowledge gained to undertake many sustainable building designs for both private and publicly funded clients.
